The International Financial Inclusion Conference is a platform for ecosystem stakeholders to congregate and share knowledge, ideas and unique experiences as well as discuss latest research frontiers and findings.
Past conferences have focused on diverse themes including:
- market-enabling policies to facilitate last-mile innovations that enhance DFS delivery,
- financial inclusion as a catalyst for sustainable economic growth and national development,
- market-creating innovations as a solution to non-consumption, among several others.
This year’s conference addresses financial product innovation and customer centricity.
2020 is a milestone year, and the COVID-19 pandemic has introduced new unforeseen factors, distorting Nigeria’s financial inclusion journey and further exposing the fragility of the financial services system. The lockdown and its antecedents emphasised the need to innovate and re-imagine financial products and services to meet the evolving needs and expectations of customers, improve product-market fit and move the financial inclusion needle.
This can only be possible via a shift towards customer-centricity.
Customer-centricity places customers (and not the product) at the center of interest. This unlocks diverse possibilities for providers to be innovative and create better products and services that win in the market.
The 2020 International Financial Inclusion Conference will explore customer-centered design principles and how they unlock diverse possibilities for providers to be innovative and create better products and services that can win in the unbanked and underserved market.
